From the first call

Four steps. You do the first one, we do the rest.

Start with one simple question.

Choose the answer that feels closest. We'll help you work out the next step.

Was the other driver at fault?

The handover

How it works

Four steps. You do the first one, we do the rest.

  1. A driver speaks on a phone from the seat of a blue crossover stopped safely at a lit Sydney petrol station after a minor collision
    01You are here

    Call us or start online

Call 1300 255 588 any time, or fill in the claim form. Tell us where you are, what happened and whether the car is drivable. If you're still at the scene, make sure everyone is safe and out of traffic first.

  2. A tow operator secures a damaged dark-blue crossover onto a flatbed truck on a rainy Sydney industrial road at dawn
    02

We arrange the tow and assessment

We arrange towing and a damage assessment, then make a preliminary assessment of liability using the available details and evidence.

  3. A graphite family SUV with its boot open outside a leafy Sydney community centre
    03

    You get a replacement car

A comparable replacement vehicle suited to your reasonable needs, subject to eligibility and availability. You may keep the replacement vehicle for the reasonable repair or total-loss settlement period, subject to the rental agreement and ongoing eligibility. Contact us before the agreed return date if you need more time; an extension must be agreed.

  4. A technician inspects the underside of a silver sedan raised on a hydraulic lift in a bright modern Sydney workshop
    04

We settle it with the insurers

We coordinate the claim and seek recovery of reasonable costs where liability is accepted or established. Legal advice may be available through EXC Law Pty Ltd, subject to eligibility and the firm's engagement terms.

Was the accident not your fault?

Not at fault usually means another driver caused the collision — for example, they hit you from behind, ran a red light, or reversed into you.

Do you have the other driver's details?

Name, phone number, registration number and insurer if you have them. A photo of their licence or rego is enough to start.

Is the at-fault party insured?

If you're not sure, that's fine — we can check for you.

The MotorClaim difference

Why drivers call us first

One point of contact to coordinate insurers, towing and repair arrangements.

A coordinator checks a tablet while a family loads bags into a green replacement wagon at a warmly lit Sydney apartment courtyard
  • $0 excess*

For an eligible not-at-fault claim, a $0 excess arrangement may be available. For an at-fault claim, where your policy allows repairer choice and we carry out the repairs, our excess waiver or contribution of up to $1,000 is assessed and confirmed before work begins.

  • Comparable replacement vehicle

A comparable replacement vehicle suited to your reasonable needs, subject to eligibility and availability.

  • We deal with the insurers

Both of them. We lodge the claim, chase the assessor, handle the back-and-forth and keep you updated in plain English.

  • Lifetime workmanship warranty

Any lifetime workmanship warranty offered by Crash Solutions P/L is subject to that provider's written terms and exclusions. Ask us for the applicable terms before authorising repairs. A different repairer's warranty is determined by that provider; it is not automatically the same.

  • Door-to-door service

We collect your car and your replacement vehicle comes to you — at home, at work, or at the scene.

Only the stage is shown. No personal claim details appear on the page.

The four stages you'll see

  1. ReceivedYour claim is with us and the file is being opened.
  2. LodgedEverything we need is in and the claim has been lodged.
  3. In progressWe're dealing with the insurers and arranging repairs and your vehicle.
  4. SettledThe claim has been settled and the costs recovered.

Two ways we help

Not at fault

Someone else caused it

Cover and entitlements depend on your policy and the circumstances of the accident.

The conditions, in plain EnglishRead the key vehicle-use conditions before you call, and check the full rental agreement before signing.

The car stays in NSW

Use within NSW only. Private use, no towing and no off-road driving with sedans or SUVs, as set out in the vehicle-use clauses of the rental agreement.

A full, unrestricted licence

Learner and provisional licences aren't accepted for the class of vehicle hired. If you want a second driver on it, they show their licence when the car is dropped off.

$1,500 if it's damaged while it's yours

If the replacement vehicle is damaged, lost or stolen while it's with you and a claim is needed, an excess and handling fee of $1,500 applies — the same way an excess works on your own policy.

Bring it back on the agreed day

If you need the vehicle for longer, contact us before the due date and obtain agreement to an extension. Unauthorised continued possession may result in recovery action or charges under the rental agreement.

Bring it back with the fuel you got

Whatever is in the tank when you collect it is the reference level for return. We don't hand it over full, so we don't ask for it back full — and we do not charge for fuel used or for any difference in fuel level on return. Keep tyre pressure and coolant normal too, and tell us straight away if something isn't right.

No deposit to pay

There is no bond to pay before you drive away.

Tolls and fines stay with the driver

Tolls and any traffic infringements during the hire period remain your responsibility. Tolls are billed to you directly, and an infringement notice is transferred into your name. MotorClaim does not charge for fuel used or a fuel-level difference on return.

This is a summary of key conditions, not the complete rental agreement. Read all terms before signing; we explain your obligations and provide a copy of the agreement. Ask us anything about it first.

It means another driver caused the accident — for example they hit you from behind, ran a red light, changed lanes into you, or reversed into your car. If someone else is responsible, their insurer is generally liable for your towing, repair and replacement vehicle costs, and that's what we pursue on your behalf.

If you are eligible and liability is accepted or established, we seek recovery of reasonable towing, repair and replacement-vehicle costs from the at-fault party or insurer. Recovery is not guaranteed. We explain your obligations, including what may happen if recovery is unsuccessful, before you sign. For an eligible not-at-fault claim, a $0 excess arrangement may be available. For an at-fault claim, where your policy allows repairer choice and we carry out the repairs, our excess waiver or contribution of up to $1,000 is assessed and confirmed before work begins.

Depending on your insurance policy and how the claim is managed, you may be entitled to choose a licensed repairer. We can coordinate with Crash Solutions P/L or an eligible repairer you nominate and explain any restrictions before booking.

Where you're not at fault and the costs are recovered from the at-fault party's insurer, you are not claiming on your own policy for those costs. How your insurer treats any individual claim is a matter for them, so we'll always tell you what we're lodging and with whom before we lodge it.

We answer the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we arrange towing across the Greater Sydney Area. Call 1300 255 588 as soon as everyone is safe and out of traffic, and we'll organise the tow from there.

We'll take it from here.
